Jacob Collection

Jacob creates traditional images and then defaces them in someway to create an anti establishment aesthetic, reminiscent of Graffiti Culture. This series of portraits at first glance are quite light-hearted but they have a deeper meaning & embody a break in traditional beliefs and tired values. Relationships have changed, institutions have changed, and cultural norms have changed, as a result these social movements in workers' rights, civil rights, women's rights and LGBTQIA+ rights, to name just a few. Working with art history references which used to signify status and wealth can now symbolise change, celebrating a different attitude in society, getting rid of out-dated beliefs.
